Looks just like Illinios. Yes, this is the best time of year in the midwest. Are there a lot of fall festivals going on in towns around you? I always loved the fall festivals.

It's a pity the photos don't show up full size -- the details HAVE to be seen to get all the magic of an Iowa harvest. I am in the throes of a very different harvest here in Oregon, but the feeling and emotions are the same, though the crops are SO not! My family is in the depths of soy/corn land, so I can relate to the colors and smells that your photos evoke. And here I am in hops/wine grapes/hazelnut/apple/peach country... we are all one in our delight in a season's job well done. For THIS year at least... It's never too early to raise the farmer's prayer for next year though -- Here's hoping for good things for next year!!

I love this time of year too Jacque, thanks for sharing the photos with us. Now if the 80 degree weather would just go away maybe we could really enjoy the season.
