We are having our second charm exchange..This is my favorite swap so far..Here are the ones I have finished.I plan to use all my charms collected for embellishments..

New Chairs

This is a couple of pic's of my new chairs .Sherry said the uphostery is mohair, they are a little worn but I love them and don't intend to have them covered even tho the edges are worn a little..one rocker one straight ...This is our little sitting room upstairs..Sherry painted the Asian girl isn't she beautiful?? Linda F sent me the palm thingy!!

Al's basement

A couple of pic's of the basement we fixed up .Al's favorite room in the house and stays there as much as possible. We painted the old original cabinets black and put new knobs.We added the counter top I am sure it wouldn't pass a carpenters list but it works.We also painted the floors and walls..We had the old original sink hooked up and bought new faucets and toilet.He has a frig, projector and screen.This is also known as the smoking room .. we choose this type of furniture so it can be wiped off.
Al installed a ceiling fan and large exhaust..our only regret is not spraying the ceiling white before we got started it would have been much light. I am not crazy about anything underground but sure love it during the storms LOL..Amazing what you can do with a little paint and hard work..

Another Tray!

Here is another tray some wanted to see my collection but I am so lazy this one I happen to take a pic right after I bought it. I should have used a little Windex roflol before pic back then about 4 years ago..All total I have six I scream when I find one as they are so rare.I did find one in real bad shape I pasted on ..

My New Find!!

Look what I found today!!!I collect these trays this makes number 6 but very hard to find..
I also found out today the story behind them. They were sold at funeral homes back in the 18th century Oh my!!eeek!!
The back of this one reads J.Anderson and Sons Furniture and undertaking Canton,So. Dakota..
They always have a wooden frame, brass handles and glass front..one day I intend to do a entire wall with these trays..this one does look like a picture of an urn, others I have are painted roses or tapstery..If you have information you would like to share please do so!!Maybe I should clean these items before posting:)

Happy Buddha!!

I question what this little Happy Buddha is made of..He sits on a marble base..No bubbles or ridges .He is very smooth and does not appear to be poured from a mold.Note the back signed in Chinese..I also did the pin test, the little pin dot to the back far left!!He was purchased from an antique shop..
He does need to be cleaned, the little dark spots are dust and grime..

The Girl's New Pond!

We had a little pond but it was nothing but trouble the girls like to feed the fish but too many rocks and bumps we always had to hold them.
So we decided to fill the pond in and make their on little pond using stepping stones , a water plant and each one a little fish ,it is safe we can still hear the trickle of water and I am much more satisfied knowing it is safe for them to walk right up and feed.
The plants I planted are durable so if they step on them it doesn't matter!!
They will not care that they are tiny feeder fish LOL!!
It will be much nicer once all the new plants settle in and grow some..
I can't wait for them to see..oops I see the stepping stone are covered in mud!! Well I will fix that tomorrow..and we need one more plant between her legs to cover the wire and the two little fish..
Al is going to put a spotlight with photocell mmm on that spelling but it will come on at night and go off in the AM and bury all the wiring in PVC but for now it is done!!

I have been tagged by http://innerchildslg@yahoo.com As I am not too good at these things I will take the easy one and just give the 7 random facts/habits about myself. So here goes :

1.Sherry taught me how to make dolls. Sherry, Scotti or my mother use to sew up all my dolls and the clothes until he left home and Sherry tired of me roflol!My mother hung on for a while. I made dolls to sell before I could sew..I still make them all by hand , this is just faster for me unless it is a large doll then I will use the machine.
2. I was a grandmother at 38 my oldest grandson just turned 27 eeeow
3.I have gained 40# since moving to Iowa
4.I like staying up late at night this is the most pleasurable time for me ..I am in the studio with TV and computer always working on something. I do my household and flower gardening things during the day.My weakness is decorating and flowers .I have more deco and gardening magazine then doll.
5. I love a very clean and in order house. I am getting better with letting things go but it use to drive me crazy if everything was not in its place. I ironed everything roflol!!I have always loved being a housewife and mother..then g,mother and now gg,mother.
6.I get up in the morning about 9:30, the first thing I do is turn on the coffee,call Al and then I sit for about two hours working a crossword in the newspaper..
7.I am very giving and a softy but feel that I come across too strong sometimes in my emails and worry that people don't like me.

Gypsy Challenge

These pictures will show my Gypsy Challenge as she left here.The other two pic show how she returned broken in half and the paint on her nose rubbed off.This doll was sold but when she returned broken of course the girl sent her back to me.
She was mailed to ARQ for a photo shoot from the Houston Quilt show as you can see in the New ADQ she arrived there broken.I am stunned they would take pic of a damaged doll.. page 65..
I am really hurt that some one would be so carelees with these dolls.I cannot believe her face was wrappen in bubble wrap as it was when she left and come home with the paint rubbed off!!Much less broken in half..
