I don't know...could it be a forsythia...do you have them that far north....yellow blooms in the spring. If that is what it is...it is a shrub.
I'm with Linda, looks like a forsyhia that has yellow blooms. We have them in Ky. They are pretty. Makes nice floral arrangements.

No looked it up on googles not a forsyhia they hae thicker leaves..but thank you both..
